Digital equipment stolen from Great Brook

Some digital technology equipment was stolen from Great Brook Middle School on Thursday evening.

Great Brook Principal Jim Elder said in a phone interview Monday that several video cameras, some still-image cameras and at least one iPod were taken from the school Thursday.

According to Antrim police, the suspects have been identified as local youths, after surveillance footage of the school was reviewed.

Det. Jason LePine responded to the school after receiving a call from Elder on Friday at around 9:15 a.m. LePine could not be reached for further comment by press time Monday.

Elder said some of the items were purchased fairly recently, while others were purchased by the school a while back. All of the equipment is used in the production of the Great Brook morning show, in which students produce and report the news relating to their school.

Elder said the items were taken from various classrooms throughout the school.
