Jaffrey Police Log: April 4, 2013
Thursday, March 28
Must appear: At 2:35 p.m., police received confirmation that a Cheshire County Sheriff’s deputy had served Peter Deiana, 22, of Jaffrey with a must appear summons, charging him with theft, at the Cheshire County House of Corrections. Deiana is scheduled to appear at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey on April 4. The summons was issued as a result of an incident reported to police on March 3, when it is alleged Deiana stole alcohol from Mr. Mike’s on Peterborough Street.
Accident: At 4:35 p.m., police responded to a two-car crash on Prescott Road near Squantum Road. Essence Thompson, 21, of Nashua was driving a 1997 Ford Torus on Prescott Road when the car allegedly suffered mechanical issues, causing the brakes to fail, according to police. Thompson told police she drove around her friend Christopher Rosha, 19, of Nashua, who was driving a 2001 Chrysler Sebring, but ultimately struck a 2000 Toyota Corolla, driven by Margaret Basha, 64, of Rindge. Basha’s car was towed. Charges in the accident are pending, according to police.
Friday, March 29
Arrest: At 10:21 p.m., police made a motor vehicle stop for speed on Main Street. The driver, Lance Conley, 50, of Stratum, was arrested and charged with operating after suspension of license. He was released on $500 personal recognizance with a May 2 court date.
Sunday, March 31
Arrest: At 2:22 a.m., police responded to a residence on Main Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. Andrew Lightfoot, 27, of Jaffrey was arrested and charged with simple assault against a woman, domestic violence related. He was released on $2,500 personal recognizance with a May 2 court date. Lightfoot was transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections for his intoxication and held there overnight, according to police.
Monday, April 1
Arrest: At 8:48 a.m., police arrested Russell Coy, 48, of Jaffrey at the police station on a warrant out of the Jaffrey Police Department charging him with violation of a protective order. He was released on $5,000 personal recognizance with an April 18 court date.
Tuesday, April 2
Arrest: At 1:15 a.m., police responded to a business on Prescott Road for a report of a violation of a criminal protective order between a man and woman. Shayla Gonyea, 23, of Peterborough and Thomas McCall, 32, of Greenfield were arrested and charged for violation of a protective order. Each was released on $2,500 personal recognizance with a May 2 court date.
