Francestown police log: April 25, 2013
Monday, April 8
Fraud complaint: At 1:45 p.m., police took a call from a person complaining that a Francestown resident sold him a motorcycle and could not produce the title for it. The case is a civil matter.
Thursday, April 11
Motor vehicle report: At 11 a.m., police took a report of a disabled trailer truck that was stuck on Greenfield Road. The truck was gone when police arrived.
Friday, April 12
Motor vehicle accident: At 11:34 a.m., police responded to New Boston Road after receiving a report of a single-car motor vehicle crash. William Velez, 30, of Manchester, told police he lost control of his 1999 Mazda due to slippery conditions and ended up off the road. The vehicle was towed, and no injuries were reported.
Motor vehicle report: At 1:23 p.m., police received a call regarding a suspicious box truck on Poor Farm Road. Police spoke with the driver and learned that he was searching an address to make a delivery.
Motor vehicle accident: At 2:42 p.m., police responded to Bennington Road after receiving a report of a single-car crash. Frank Masel, 78, of Francestown, told police he lost control of his 2008 Chrysler and slid off the road. No injuries were reported, and Masel’s car was towed.
Motor vehicle accident: At 3:46 p.m., police responded to Bennington Road after receiving a report of a single-car crash. Leonard Hoiles, 84, of West Henrietta, N.Y., said that he lost control of his 2007 Buick due to slippery conditions and ended up off the road. Hoiles and his wife, Judith, were not injured. The car was towed.
Saturday, April 13
Assist other agency: At 12:20 p.m., officers assisted Hancock Police and State Police in locating a man who was wanted in relation to an assault investigation in Hancock. The man was located at a Candlewood Hill Road residence and was taken to the Hancock police station.
