Monday, May 6

Accident: At 5:55 a.m., a 2002 Subaru Legacy driven by Carrie Levesque, 37, of Wilton hit and killed a deer on Old Street Road. Levesque was not injured.

Unwanted person: At 9:39 a.m., an Old Dublin Road resident reported her landlord was outside her residence and she didn’t want him there. Police spoke to both people and they agreed to meet the next day.

Domestic disturbance: At 8:01 p.m., police responded to an argument between two Summer Street residents. One man had a self-inflicted cut on his arm and was taken to Monadnock Community Hospital by ambulance.

Tuesday, May 7

Complaint: At 3:49 p.m., the school bus company reported that a man had been waving a sword at a school bus as it drove past. Police located a juvenile, in his own driveway, with a toy sword.

Complaint: At 6:54 p.m., a Pine Street resident reported that a man was sleeping on her doorstep. Found a Prospect Street resident who was waiting for a friend. The friend arrived and took the man to Monadnock Community Hospital.

Arrest: At 8 p.m., police arrested Jason Larue, 33, of Peterborough on an electronic bench warrant charging him with driving after being deemed a habitual offender. The warrant said no bail should be set, so Larue was taken to Valley Street Jail by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department.

Assist: At 8:21 p.m., after getting a call about an intoxicated person walking on Concord Street, police picked the man up and gave him a ride to Prescott Hill Apartments.

Wednesday, May 8

Accident: At 2:33 p.m., Barbara Collins, 83, of New Ipswich, driving a 2007 Jeep Liberty, attempted to pull into a parking spot and hit a parked 2001 GMC pickup owned by Eric Trow, 47, of Peterborough. Both vehicles had bumper damage.

Complaint: At 3:58 p.m., bus company officials reported that a dark green sedan had passed a bus on Route 101 East on the right while students were getting off, nearly hitting them.

Arrest: At 6 p.m., after getting report of a resident who might have been driving after his license had been suspended, Sgt. Richard Nelson went to Riverview Apartments, where he located the vehicle, a 2005 Ford van, and identified the driver as Alan Wheeler, 24, of Peterborough. As Wheeler got out of the van, Nelson notified him that he was being placed under arrest. Wheeler fled into the woods, but was taken into custody by Nelson after a short pursuit. Nelson reported finding heroin on Wheeler’s person after he was arrested. Wheeler was charged with operating after suspension, second offense, disobeying an officer, resisting arrest, aggravated DWI and possession of a narcotic drug believed to be heroin. The van was seized, pending execution of a search warrant. Police also obtained a search warrant for an apartment unit at Riverview, where additional drug paraphernalia were located. Bail was set at $25,000 cash and Wheeler was taken to Valley Street Jail by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department. The next day, he was arraigned in Hillsborough District Court, bail was set at $10,000 cash and Wheeler was taken back to Valley Street Jail. A probable cause hearing was scheduled for May 14 in 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey.
