Peterborough Police Log: June 4, 2013
Friday, May 24
Accident: At 1:20 p.m., police said a 1999 Jeep Cherokee driven by Ronald E. Cutting, 51, of Peterborough and a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Matthew E. Goodell, 28, of Marlborough collided as Cutting was pulling out of the Belletete’s parking lot on Concord Street. Both cars had moderate damage and were driven from the scene. No one was injured. Police said contributing factors to the collision were failure to yield to oncoming traffic and distraction on the part of Cutting, and improper turning on the part of Goodell.
Arrest: At 4:30 p.m., following a traffic stop for alleged speeding on Wilton Road, police arrested Matthew McGinley, 20, of Rindge and charged him with operating after suspension. He was released on $500 personal recognizance with a July 8 court date in 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey.
Saturday, May 25
Accident: At 12:08 a.m., a 2000 Jeep Cherokee driven by Abigail Mattson, 24, of Peteroborough went off Sand Hill Road near General Miller Road, hitting a tree. Mattson said she had lost control when she reached down to remove a bug crawling on her leg. She declined medical attention. The Jeep had heavy front-end damage and was towed.
Arrest: At 11:11 p.m., after responding to a reported domestic dispute at a Hunter Farm Road home, police arrested Dana E. Marmorstein, 41, and charged him with simple assault – domestic violence related. Marmorstein was released on $2,000 personal recognizance with a July 8 court date.
Sunday, May 26
Vandalism: At 9:23 a.m., a Pheasant Road resident reported someone had thrown an egg on her car while it was parked overnight.
Monday, May 27
Burglary report: At 8:55 a.m. a Summer Street resident reported that a small amount of money had disappeared over the last few weeks from her apartment. She said someone may also have made food, eaten it in the kitchen and slept on one of the beds.
