Wednesday, June 26
Accident: At 9:30 a.m., police responded to a two-car crash at Market Basket on Route 202. Police said Mildred Vigneault, 79, of Jaffrey attempted to park her 2011 Subaru in the parking lot of Market Basket when she allegedly struck a parked 2012 Honda Accord, owned by Deborah Reynolds, 57, of Winchendon, Mass. Both cars sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.
Thursday, June 27
Accident: At 11:33 a.m., police responded to Franklin Pierce University for a minor two-car crash. Stephen Smith, 53, of New Ipswich was driving a 2005 Chevy van behind the university’s maintenance building when he allegedly hit a parked car, owned by Danielle Hare, 29, of Franklin, Mass. Both cars were drivable.
Accident: At 4:30 p.m., police responded to a two-car crash at Market Basket on Route 202. Debra Depaul, 59, of Jaffrey was backing up her Toyota Highlander at the same time that Sylvia Kaarto, 78, of Rindge was backing up her 2001 Mercury in the parking lot of Market Basket, according to police. Both cars collided, causing minor damage.
Saturday, June 29
Burglary: At 11 a.m., police responded to a report of a burglary at a seasonal camp on Lapham Lane. The property owner reported that someone had stolen his aluminum dock — valued at approximately $5,000 — and ramps from outside, in addition to breaking into his camp and stealing ramps from the basement. Police said forced entry was gained into the camp through a window. The case is under investigation.
Sunday, June 30
Arrest: At 3:30 a.m., police made a motor vehicle stop on Route 119 near North Street. Julian Algarin, 19, and Roberto Rosado, 20, both of Fitchburg, Mass., were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug, believed to be marijuana. Algarin and Rosado were each released on $5,000 personal recognizance with Aug. 7 court dates at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey.
Monday, July 1
Criminal mischief: At 10 a.m., police received a report of criminal mischief from a resident of Lord Brook Road. The resident reported that a mailbox was knocked down sometime during the night. The case is under investigation.
