Mason Police Logs: July 25, 2013


Saturday, July 13

Suspicious person: At 2:10 p.m., police received a report of a black Ford Ranger pickup parked by the fire watering hole on Abbott Hill Road. When police arrived, the vehicle owner was in the process of towing the vehicle to his residence. There was no criminal aspect found.

Monday, July 15

Theft: At 7:45 a.m., a Gilman Hill Road resident reported that his skidder was taken over the weekend and apparently used at a house down the street from his job site and then returned with broken chains. Police are investigating.

Assist: At 9:48 a.m., police assisted Mason Emergency Medical Services and Brookline Ambulance Service with an elderly Merriam Hill Road resident who had fallen.

Fraud: At 11:05 p.m., an Old County Road resident received a phone call from a man with a gruff voice who stated, “We are going to send somebody over to collect the money you owe our client.” The resident told police he doesn’t own anybody any money.

Wednesday, July 17

Suspicious person: At 10:31 p.m., while on patrol in the area of Parker’s Maple Barn on Brookline Road, police saw a vehicle in the parking lot and a woman looking in the windows of the restaurant with a flashlight. Police recognized the woman as an employee of Parker’s. The woman told police that she believed she had left her cell phone in the business when she left for the day and was trying to see if she could see it through the windows on the cashier’s desk. She did not have a door key or the alarm code, and stated she would try to look for her phone inside the next day before she went to her regular day job.

Thursday, July 18

Suspicious person: At 10:22 p.m., while on patrol in the area of Pratt Pond, police saw a black Ford F150 parked up by the spur road entrance. There was no one by the vehicle, but police were able to determine that the owner was kayaking with his son.
