Motor vehicle stop: At 6:43 a.m., police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Concord Street near the rest area. Police observed the driver’s speed to be 78 mph in a posted 55 mph zone, and pulled the car over. The driver, Richard Casaletto, 23, of Deering, submitted to standard field sobriety tests because police detected a smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Casaletto allegedly failed some of the sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with two counts of DWI. He was transported to the Hillsborough Police Department, where he was booked and released on $1,000 personal recognizance, with a court date of Nov. 21 at the 6th Circuit Court, Hillsborough
Motor vehicle crash: At 3:45 p.m., dispatch was advised of a single-car accident on Keene Road near the intersection of Clinton Road. Upon arrival, police observed the car in question to be in the eastbound lane on Keene Road facing east with heavy crush damage to the center front and fluids leaking. The driver, Amanda Vaine, 23, of Winchester, who did not sustain any injuries, reported to police she had gone off the roadway briefly. Vaine told police she over-corrected and spun as she crossed into the oncoming lane, striking the guardrail and then coasting into the eastbound lane where she came to rest.
