Monday, Nov. 11
Motor vehicle stop: At 10:36 p.m., police stopped a vehicle outside of Edmund’s Hardware Store on Main Street for a defective headlight. The officer detected an odor of marijuana and was given consent to search the vehicle. Police discovered some marijuana in the vehicle and arrested the driver, Jeffrey Lent, 19, Sharon, and charged him with possession of drugs and general controlled drug act. The other individual in the vehicle was a juvenile from Peterborough who was taken into protective custody. Lent was released on $1,000 personal recognizance and given a court date of Jan. 5 at the 6th Circuit Court, Hillsborough.
Wednesday, Nov. 13
Arrest: At 2:40 p.m., Kyle Brissette, 19, of Bennington turned himself in on a warrant out of the Antrim Police Department, charging him with reckless operation, disobeying an officer, yellow line violation, failure to turn on front lights when required, transporting an alcoholic beverage by minor and operating without a valid license. Brissette was released on $3,000 personal recognizance with a court date of Jan. 5 at the 6th Circuit Court, Hillsborough. The case is connected with an incident on Sept. 25, when police on patrol attempted to stop a driver traveling on North Main Street who failed to turn on the front lights when required. The car did not stop, so police followed the car onto Clinton Road. The driver, allegedly Brissette, jumped from the driver’s side of the moving car, which crashed on the side of the road and he took off into the woods. Police followed him into the woods, but could not find him at the time.
Thursday, Nov. 14
Motor vehicle crash: At 6:42 p.m., police responded to the area of Concord Street at Elm Avenue for a reported single-car accident with a deer. Upon arrival, police observed a single car parked on the shoulder of Concord Street at a final rest facing south. Police observed the vehicle, a Black Ford Escape, to have visible crush contact damage to the center and right front portion of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed. The deer was deceased. Police did not confirm by press time where or not the driver, Colleen Young, 51, of Peterborough, sustained any injuries.
Arrest: At 9:16 p.m., while investigating a suspicious person, Officer Brian Lord stopped Breandon Surprenant, 27, of Antrim on Main Street and arrested him for driving under the influence of drugs or liquor. Surprenant was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a court date of Jan. 5 at the 6th Circuit Court, Hillsborough.
