Peterborough/Jaffrey: DWI charge is driver’s third

PETERBOROUGH — A town plow truck driver is facing his third DWI charge in 11 years after he sideswiped an SUV and collided head-on with another vehicle on Route 202 Jan. 30, according to police documents. Leonard Gonthier, 54, of Jaffrey, was arrested in 2005 in Hancock and in 2009 in Peterborough, both times on charges of aggravated DWI, according to reports gathered from Jaffrey District Court. Gonthier was not convicted in either incident, records state. “That scares me,” said Kimberly Kenney, of Peterborough, when told that Gonthier’s arrest was his third. “It affects public safety.” Gonthier, who was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center …
