Rindge: Panhandlers now face arrest

After receiving numerous complaints from Hannaford Supermarket, the Rindge Police Department has put panhandlers on notice. Those found in violation of panhandling on the island at the entrance of the Hannaford and Walmart parking lot, which abuts Route 202, will first be assessed a warning. For subsequent offenses, panhandlers will be arrested for criminal trespassing, a violation level offense that carries an assessed fine. Police report that several panhandlers have … 0
