March recycling topped 56 tons in Peterborough

In March, recycling received in Peterborough totaled 56.78 tons, according to town recycling manager Scott Bradford.

The recycling brought in by Peterborough and Sharon residents generated $5,593.70 in revenue during the month, and saved more than $6,000 in disposal fees.

Measured in tons, the recycling breakdown included: Newspaper (3.2), cardboard (5.4), mixed paper (15.6), plastics (2.82), aluminum cans (0.4), steel cans (1.32), food waste (1.25), Glass (21), textiles (3.72) and electronics (2.07).
