Recyclers save on disposal fees

Through the efforts of Peterborough and Sharon residents in the month of October, the Peterborough Recycling Center recycled a total of 75.19 tons, including 4.48 tons of newspapers, 10.2 tons of cardboard, 17.94 tons of mixed paper, 2.73 tons of plastic, 0.4 tons of aluminum cans, 1.32 tons of steel cans, 1.66 tons of food waste, 31.5 tons of glass and 4.96 tons of textiles.

By recycling a total of 75.19 tons, the residents avoided paying $8,195.71 in disposal fees this month. Plus, they generated $8,325.55 in revenue this month.
