Registration open for Climate Conference
Registration is now open for the LOCAL SOLUTIONS: Northeast Climate Change Preparedness Conference to be hosted by Antioch University New England and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on May 19 to 21, 2014, in Manchester.
Participants will learn how to use related tools and best practices to help build healthy, resilient communities.
The conference is designed for participants from throughout the region, from the northern Chesapeake Bay to the Eastern Maritime provinces.

There are a variety of registration options. Attendees can sign up for all three days of conference workshops, sessions, and special programs, or select other packages for individual days and events. The third day’s track is specific to fostering preparedness linkages between schools and communities.
The agenda includes more than 20 sessions with representatives of more than 30 national, state, and community agencies, organizations, and businesses. Sample topics include Adaptive Regeneration: Why Resilient Forests Matter; Buildings in Harm’s Way: Decision-Making Within Fluid Grids; Reaching Beyond the ‘Usual Suspects’: How to Bring People to the Table; and Responding to the Surge: Coastal Buffers.
The conference is a great opportunity for local planners, educators, elected officials, and other professional municipal and county decision-makers to network and learn how to better prepare for severe weather and climate change impacts in the Northeast.
