Franklin Pierce graduate hit by car in London

A 2011 Franklin Pierce University graduate sustained serious injuries after she was hit by a car while in London in early November.

Amy Werner, 23, of Dover, Vt., was walking with another woman on West End Lane in London when they were hit by an elderly driver, according to published reports.

Werner was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The woman with whom Werner was walking, a young mother, was killed, according to published reports.

According to her Facebook page, Werner is a graduate student at the University of Westminster, a public research university in London. Werner graduated from Franklin Pierce University in 2011 with a degree in business management.

A donation fund has been set up in Werner’s name at Merchants Bank. Checks can be made payable to the Amy Werner Fund c/o Merchants Bank, Wilmington, Vt., 05363.
