New bus to provide  transportation to seniors

Residents of Southern New Hampshire Services’ Greenville Falls Senior Housing and other area seniors are awaiting delivery of a new replacement bus awarded to Hillsborough County’s Community Action Agency by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

With a cost in excess of $ 50,000, the new bus will continue to provide free transportation to low-income elderly and disabled residents of Greenville and surrounding communities for medical and social service appointments, grocery shopping and recreational activities. With eight seats and two wheelchair positions, SNHS staff assists with packages and helping passengers on and off. The program relies largely on volunteer drivers. Rides are provided on both a fixed-route and on-demand basis.
