Course on Christianity offered at All Saints
A course on the Bible and the history of Christianity is being offered at All Saints’ Church. Education for Ministry is a self-study course where students meet weekly with a mentor to discuss their lesson material.
This is a four-year course which is signed up for on a yearly basis. Year one covers the Old Testament; year two, the New Testament; year three, church history to around 1800; year four, theology.
The course uses textbooks written by theologians and scholars and also includes supplemental material for common lessons. One of the features of Education for Ministry is theological reflection which offers the opportunity for students to engage in a process of exploration in a group format.
The course is out of the School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. Mentors are trained through the program. For more information, visit www.sewanee.edu/efm.
The group meets Mondays, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 9 until the beginning of June, with some Mondays off.
The course fee is $350 per year. Registration must be completed by mid-August. For more information, contact Chris Howe at 924-6569 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Marilyn Weir at 924-3405 or email@example.com.
