Grapevine offering up summer program

The Grapevine will be holding its Children’s Summer Adventures Program: “Backyard Adventures” for children ages 4 1/2 to 6 years, and “Backyard Science” for children ages 7 to 9.

Carol Lunan M.Ed., the Learning Vine teacher and former Harris Center educator, will lead the programs joined by Rachel Lunan-Hill.

Backyard Adventures activities include investigating flying creatures, creepy crawlers and swimming bugs; exploring mud and water; and scavenger hunts, hikes, nature stories, songs, crafts and painting.

Backyard Science offers nature exploration through the lens of science. Activities will include mud, water, camp songs and games, scavenger hunts, science through art, and more.

New this year is the Overnight in the Backyard, anovernight offering many nature, science, cooking and art activities combined with an old-fashioned sleep out in the backyard of The Grapevine.

There will be two one-week sessions of Backyard Adventures offered: July 21-25 and July 28-Aug. 1. The fee is $110.

Backyard Science will be offered Aug. 4-8 and the fee is is $130.

Overnight in the Backyard, for 7-9 year olds, will be offered from July 17, 3 p.m., to July 18, 10 a.m. The fee is $30.

Parents are welcome to drop off their children or stay for all or part of the morning.
