New ConVal superintendent to be paid $140K
PETERBOROUGH — The newly hired superintendent for the ConVal School District, Brendan Minnihan, will be paid an annual salary of $140,000 when he starts work on July 1, a sizeable increase from the $119,304 he’s currently earning as head of the Sunapee School District.
Minnihan, a Greenfield resident, was announced as the district’s new superintendent last week.
He has been superintendent in Sunapee for five years and previously worked in the Hampstead and Fall Mountain school districts.
According to ConVal School Board Chair Butch Estey, who confirmed the salary number on Monday, Minnihan will be receiving health benefits through the district. ConVal’s current superintendent, Dick Bergeron, is being paid an annual salary of $162,388, according to a N.H. Department of Education list of salaries, but Bergeron does not receive health insurance through the district. Bergeron’s contract with the district extends through the end of the current school year.
Estey said Minnihan won’t officially start work until July 1, but he will participate in the interview and decision making process for hiring a new principal at South Meadow School in Peterborough.
