Route 9 paving  begins Sept. 5

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation has announced work is scheduled to begin Sept. 5, on a N.H. Route 9 pavement resurfacing project in the towns of Stoddard, Antrim and Hillsborough.

This project will begin on Route 9 near Granite Lake Road in Stoddard and will extend east approximately 14 miles to Route 31N in Hillsborough. The primary purpose of the project is to extend the life of existing pavement through pavement resurfacing. Guardrail upgrades will be included. Occasional lane closures may be needed in order to perform the work.

To allow for bridge rehabilitation work, alternating traffic controlled by temporary signals will be in place at the Route 9 bridge over the North Branch River near the Antrim Fire Station.

Continental Paving, Inc. of Londonderry is the contractor for the $4.15 million project, which has a final completion date of July 18, 2014.
