Democrats to hold bake sale

The Peterborough/Sharon Democratic Committee is holding a bake sale and farmers’ market on Saturday to support local Democratic candidates for this fall’s elections. The group will be selling baked good and fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs outside of Harlow’s Pub on Grove St. in Peterborough from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Mark Fernald of Sharon said Wednesday the goal is to support the Democratic team in this area. He said the group has not decided which candidates they will be donating their profits to.

Fernald expects some of the Democratic candidates to stop by. He said candidate for District 9 state senator, Lee Nyquist of New Boston, will probably make an appearance. Fernald also said he wouldn’t be surprised if candidates for the N.H. State House, Ivy Vann and the incumbent Peter Leishman, both of Peterborough, stop by.

The Democratic Committee is inviting the public to donate baked goods to them Friday for the sale. In an email, Terry Reeves of Peterborough said anyone donating baked goods should contact her by email at terryhelenreeves@comcast.net. They can drop off the donated items at her house or Fernald’s office.
