Wedding venue open house

The barn was built in 1904. The owner was born half a century later. Both were ready for a new purpose and found it with the launch of Allrose Farm Country Weddings. Michele Perron moved to the farm four years ago. Newly single at 60 and unemployed, Perron was searching for a new passion and a renewed sense of purpose. Oddly enough, she saw the empty barn as facing the same dilemma. Last year, a family friend suggested Allrose Farm to another friend searching for a rustic wedding site. The setting was perfect and the future was clear. Allrose Farm Country Weddings became a reality.

“It’s been a fabulous experience for me so far,” Perron explains. “I meet so many wonderful couples and their families. I get to share their excitement and also share this beautiful old farm.”

Allrose Farm Country Weddings is part of the growing trend towards destination weddings in rustic settings. “I’ve discovered that the wedding industry in the Monadnock Region is extensive,” she observes. “I’ve already found an incredible network of local wedding vendors and services. Chefs, bakers, musicians, craftsmen. They are all here. I want to promote local resources and the seasonal attractions of the Monadnock region to all my couples planning their weddings here in Greenfield.”

An Open House will be held at Allrose Farm on Saturday, May 31, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Guests may tour the farmhouse, grounds and newly renovated four-story barn. Several local wedding vendors will be onsite during the event. Monadnock Tents & Events of Greenfield will have a wedding tent displayed on the grounds along with tables that the owner handcrafts from wood harvested on his own property. Light refreshments and beverages served outdoors and in the tent are compliments of Catering by Carol of Jaffrey, along with cake samples and bread from Houghton Farm Bakery of Bennington. Refreshments in the barn are compliments of Shiva Catering of Peterborough. Live music will be by The Nines of Marlborough.
