Arrest: Antrim police were parked on the shoulder of Keene Road using stationary radar when a black GMC 2001 Sonoma traveling east was observed moving at a high rate of speed. An Antrim officer received a read out from the radar of 67 mph, while the vehicle was traveling in a 50 mph zone. Antrim police officer initiated contact with male operator, Thomas Rogers, of Sullivan, upon pulling the vehicle over. According to police, Rogers stated that he did not have a license. Dispatch reported that Rogers had a suspended license and a non-extraditable warrant out of Florida. Rogers was arrested and charged with operating after suspension. Rogers was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a court date of Aug. 21 at 6th Circuit Court, Hillsborough.

Thursday, Jule 3

Motor vehicle accident: Antrim police responded to a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Concord Street and Whitney Road. Sarah Berger, 27, of Deering stated that she lost control of her blue 2008 Kia Optima after applying the breaks to avoid a deer while driving east. Berger’s vehicle went off the paved portion of the roadway and down the embankment. The vehicle had visible crush contact damage to the passenger side front-end and air bag deployment. Berger was transported by Antrim ambulance to MCH for precautionary evaluation; her vehicle was later towed.
