Tennis event was a big success

To the editor:

What a good time for a good cause was had at the ConVal Community Dollars for Scholars Tennis Tournament fundraiser. The skies were sunny, the sponsors supportive, and the tennis players were all above average!

ConVal Community Scholarship Foundation board member Lisa Foley’s tennis and organizing talents were put to good use as event coordinator extraordinaire. Lisa had lots of help from other board members and friends, too. Nancy Zanga, Judy Tomlinson, Linda Greenwood, John McCullough, Sandy Harrington, Sue Copley, Bill Leahy, Kevin McElhinney, Kim Chandler and Janet Reilly were among the folks who helped make this such a successful and fun event. Jeff King and the Peterborough Rec Department were also a big help.

A sincere thank you is due our generous sponsors: Finlay Foundation, inHaus Media, Torphy Construction, the Edward Jones Financial offices of Patrick Foley and Josh Houle (just coincidence they won the Men’s A-Division!), NH Ball Bearings, Huberts, Annie Card Creative Services, Yankee Publishing and Savron Graphics.

Finally, I’d like to thank all the good sports who participated and the many donors who made this effort a financially successful event.

The money raised helps us tell six new Dollars for Scholars award winners per year, “We believe in you.”

Thanks to all who make these scholarships possible.
