Central Park Jogger to sign book
A presentation entitled, “The Power of Possibilities,” and book signing by Trisha Meili, the “Central Park Jogger,” will be held at Crotched Mountain Foundation’s Carter Hall on Wednesday from 3 to 4 p.m.
In April 1989, Meili was brutally assaulted and raped while jogging in Manhattan’s Central Park. She was found near death and in a coma due to trauma and a major brain injury. The attack captured headlines around the world as the anonymous “Central Park Jogger” fought to recover.
Meili’s story of survival and recovery is detailed in her memoir, “I Am the Central Park Jogger: A Story of Hope and Possibility.” Her presentation explores her transformation from a person in a wheelchair who was unable to walk to once again being a determined athlete capable of completing a New York City Marathon. During her recovery, she concentrated on her possibilities.
This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required as space is limited. To register, contact Joan Crooker at 547-3311, ext. 1481 or email email@example.com.
