Last Saturday, ConVal High School senior Jake Hollander finished second at the NHIAA Division II state golf tournament. On the surface, his success may look like a typical tale of high school athletic success — in reality, it was anything but. By the time Hollander, a Peterborough resident, finished second in the tournament’s individual portion last Saturday, he had overcome all but one competitor, as well as the absence of a golf program at ConVal High School and an untimely case of Lyme disease with which he had been diagnosed in August 2013.
