North Meadow will be missed
To the editor:
It was a great sadness to see a for sale sign in front of the North Meadow Family Health building and then to read, in the Ledger-Transcript, that the practice was moving to the hospital. No doubt, this is for financial (the hospital’s) reasons.
I am sad because North Meadow’s practice provides much that is missing in medicine these days. From the moment you enter the building, there is warmth, individual attention and a sense of calm; no speakers calling out, no piped in music (who chooses that stuff?!) and, best of all, no TV blaring in the background. There certainly is enough research about creating healthy, healing environments. North Meadow is an example of such a medical facility.
It is a great loss for the community when it moves to where one can’t escape extraneous noise and TV, even in the cafeteria! I will miss North Meadow’s quiet and deep caring environment that houses its excellent medical staff.
