Hancock Democrats will caucus on March 24

The Hancock Democrats will caucus on Sunday at 4 p.m., in the meeting room of the Hancock Town Library.

Four officers of the Hancock Town Democratic Committee (HTDC) will be elected for the next two years and a delegate to the N.H. Democratic Party’s 2013 Midterm Convention and 2014 State Convention. The four elected officers also are delegates to the annual conventions, giving Hancock five votes at those events.

Every registered Democrat in Hancock is automatically a member of the HTDC and is encouraged to come to the caucus, meet fellow Democrats and participate in choosing the committee leadership.

The present chairman, Jim Curran, has announced that he will not seek re-election. Three of the incumbents have offered to run again: Michelle Russell for secretary; Barbara Schweigert for treasurer; and Matthew Hale for delegate at large.

Candidates for the chair and vice chair are being sought. Nominations for all five positions also can be made from the floor when the caucus convenes.

For more information, call Jim Curran at 525-4172.
