Village concerts part of summer festival

As part of its summer festival, Monadnock Music holds free concerts in various communities. Here are some of the concerts coming up.

Tonight at 7:30 p.m., a concert will be held at the Hancock Meeting House. Charles Blandy, tenor, Linda Osborn, piano, and Katherine Growdon, mezzo-soprano, and a trio consisting of Mary Gerbi, alto, Thea Lobo, alto, Jessica Petrus, soprano, will be performing Gerald Finzi’s “Let us garlands bring” and Leos Janacek’s “The Diary of One Who Disappeared.”

The Monadnock Chamber Players, Jan Halloran, clarinet, Tessa Lark, violin, Rafael Popper-Keizer, cello, Vivian Choi, piano, will be performing at the Wilton Center Unitarian Church on Sunday at 3 p.m. “Sialia” by MacDowell Colony fellow Jorge Villavicencio Grossman will be performed along with Horatio Parker’s “Suite for Violin and Piano” and the “Quartet for the End of Time” by Olivier Messiaen.

These village concerts are free to attend. No reservations are required. Voluntary donations to support the Monadnock Music Village Concerts will be accepted at each performance.
