Trees, global warming  lecture at Harris Center

Bart Bouricius, an adjunct professor at Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass., and founder of Canopy Construction Associates, will give a talk Wednesday at the Harris Center for Conservation Education.

Bouricius’ illustrated lecture will focus on the significance of giant Kapok and other emergent trees relative to global climate change, and how conservation efforts have the potential to impact global warming. He will also discuss the challenges of climbing and measuring emergent trees in order to develop a more accurate assessment of forest carbon storage.
