‘Banners in Central Park’

An artist’s reception will be held at Sunflowers in Jaffrey on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.

“Christo’s Banners in Central Park” is an exhibit of photographs by Hal Close of Peterborough documenting “The Gates” by Bulgarian artist Christo Yavacheff and French artist Jeanne-Claude in 2005.

The artists installed 7,503 vinyl ‘gates’ along 23 miles of pathways in New York City’s Central Park. From each gate hung a panel of deep saffron-colored nylon fabric.

In addition, Holly Alderman of Jaffrey has created two banners from Hal’s photographs. For more information, call 593-3303.
