Budget meeting set for tonight

The first steps of the review process for the proposed 2014 Jaffrey town budget were postponed because of bad weather Thursday evening. The Budget Committee will hold its Budget Overview meeting tonight at 7 p.m., in the town offices.

Town Manager David Caron presented his proposed budget to the Select Board on Dec. 23. As it stands now, the town is considering a $9,701,995 budget, which is a $103,128 increase from 2013. If approved, the budget would mean a 2.86 percent, or 26 cent, increase in the town tax rate.
