Fitness Center holds grand opening
Owner of QueViva fitness, Sheilla Parkerson, opened the doors of her new fitness studio at 82 Fitzgerald Dr. Unit 3C, in Jaffrey earlier this month, with a grand opening held on Saturday. The event included door prizes, refreshments, free chair massages, and 20 minute demos of all of the classes QueViva offers.
Parkerson was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States at the age of 11. She says she remembers working out with her mother at a young age and thinking “Someday, I would like to help people be healthy and strong” Fostering that desire, she achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Massachusetts and has been working in the fitness industry since 1998 as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and fitness center manager.
Parkerson started classes independently in December 2010, renting available spaces throughout the Jaffrey community. Over the past few years, She has grown a steady following of supporting participants. QueViva Fitness specializes in programs for children, active older adults and beginners, and the avid exerciser.
QueViva offers personal training, and is available for fundraisers and high energy, kid-friendly birthday parties. It also offers a full schedule of classes. The new weekly class schedule includes Zumba fitness, Zumba toning, low-impact Zumba Gold, Zumba for kids, a new Zumbini for ages zero to three years old, mat flow, yoga, Turbo Kick, a low-impact Tone and Core class and Zumba Sentao. Monthly plans range from $30-45. Class packages and or drop-in fees are also available.
