‘Buddy’ poppy program a success

To the editor:

The “Buddy” Poppy program of 2013 was a great success. We would like to express a big “thank you” to everyone in the Monadnock region who allowed this to happen.

The proceeds from this program are used for the assistance of needy veterans, members of the Armed Forces and their dependents, widows and orphans.

We also would like to recognize a very dedicated group of individuals for their assistance in our endeavors. They are the Monadnock Squadron United States Sea Cadets; Ensign John Franklin; Instructor Dona “Sam” LaFortune, Ltjg. Jane LaRoche, CPO Zach Letourneau, PO3 Christian Hirsch, PO3 Carl Thompson, Seaman Nick Graves, Seaman Ben Graves, Seaman Apprentices Pat LaRoche, Garrett Maki and Cordell Wright. Thank you, Sea Cadets. The program would not have been as rewarding without your assistance. We are proud of these troops.
