Summer movie nights begin July 10

Free movies for the community will be shown again this summer by The Park Theatre. All the films will be presented in the air-conditioned Jaffrey Woman’s Club.

The 8th annual Summer Movie Night begins July 10 with the 1976 film “Rocky,” starring Sylvester Stallone.

All movies are free and open to the public with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments for sale include candy bars, popcorn, juice and water. Cinema patrons who collect 50 movie labels that are placed on the refreshments from any or all seasons can redeem them for free admission to the event of their choice when The Park Theatre opens.

Films will be shown every Thursday through Aug. 21. Other films on the schedule are “Michael” on July 17, “Magnificent Seven” on July 24, “To Kill a Mockingbird” on July 31, “Best in Show” on Aug. 7, “The African Queen” on Aug. 14, and “Love Actually” on Aug. 21.

RBC Charitable Foundation, USA has awarded the theatre a grant to help support this season’s films and programs. Other 2014 Season Sponsors include Piedra Fina Restaurant in Marlborough and La Mia Casa Pizzeria in Peterborough as well as many individuals who continue to sponsor specially-selected films and make possible entertainment for the Monadnock region at no charge.
