Movie and magic at the library, July 8

The classic Walt Disney film “Swiss Family Robinson” will be shown at the Children’s Room of the Jaffrey Public Library on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. The film is the second in the children’s summer movie series, and all ages are welcome, free of charge. Juice and popcorn will be served, and no registration is required.

On Thursday, July 10, the Boston Museum of Science will be bringing Science Magic to the library at 1:30 p.m. This program will investigate the science behind the “magic” of several classic magic tricks. For instance, you might learn how to snatch a tablecloth from a table without disturbing the items on top; or, how to make a balloon fireproof. This fascinating program is for ages 5 and up, and is free of charge. Registration is required.

Both programs are part of the library’s 2014 Summer Reading Program, FIZZ! BOOM! READ!

For more information or to register for Science Magic, call the Children’s Room at 532-7301.
