Rani Arbo at the Grand View Barn
Rani Arbo and daisy mayhem will present a concert at the Grand View Barn on Wednesday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m.
This group offers an eclectic mix of folk, roots, swing, bluegrass and global influences, drawing from American roots music and mixing things up with parts of contemporary pop and jazz.
With influences from Doc Watson to Django Reinhardt, from Ghanaian drumming to the funky Meters, and from Fiddlin’ John Carson to Bob Dylan, daisy mayhem celebrates America’s rich musical past and brings it into the present.
Members of the band are Rani Arbo on fiddle and guitar, Andrew Kinsey on bass, banjo, and ukulele, Anand Nayak on electric and acoustic guitars, and Scott Kessel on percussion. Kessel’s percussion rig is 95-percent recycled, featuring a cardboard box, tin cans, caulk tubes, and a vinyl suitcase in lieu of a bass drum.
This concert is part of the Electric Earth Concerts series. Tickets are $250 and can be reserved online at ElectricEarthConcerts.org or by calling 646-522-3352.
