Wallace Tripp Art in Jaffrey exhibit

Peterborough artist Wallace Tripp will be a special guest artist at a solo art exhibit by Keene artist Bob Askey at the jaffrey Civic Center. The exhibit opens July 18 and runs through Aug. 17. A public reception is July 25 from 5 - 7 p.m.

Wallace Tripp illustrated nine of his own picture books and those of 35 other authors through publishers. He did all f the art for his nationally distributed greeting card company, Pawprints. His art career was cut short when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.

Askey wants Wallace Tripp’s art to be enjoyed by many who were not lucky enough to see his wonderful work as it came off the drawing board. Tripp will have samples of his books and cards and illustrations on exhibit. Askey works in oil, watercolor, pen and ink, graphite etching and mixed media, all of which are represented in the exhibit. He will be in the gallery whenever it is open and will provide free media demonstrations, and lead art topic discussions throughout the course of the exhibit. One piece of art will go to the winner of a raffle on the final day of the exhibit. There is no charge to enter the raffle; visitors simple put their name in the raffle box.

The exhibit is appropriate for all ages.
