Spring-themed concert in Jaffrey on April 21

First Church in Jaffrey Concert Series will present “Springtime, Moonlight, and Fairy Tales,” on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Pianist Eve Kodiak will be joined by some \old friends. She will accompany violinist Moby Pearson on the Beethoven “Spring Sonata.”

Pearson has performed in orchestras, chamber groups and as a soloist all over the world, but in the Monadnock region he is best known as a founding member of Apple Hill Chamber Players. He also frequently serves as concertmaster in Monadnock Chorus concerts.

The fairy tales are represented by Ravel’s “Mother Goose Suite.” Kodiak joins duo-pianist Karen Melamed of Ithaca, N.Y., where she is program director of the Community School of Music and Art. The two met when they were eleven years old, and this will be their first performance together in two decades.

The program begins and ends with moonlight. Debussy’s “Claire de Lune” is the first work and it will end with Henry Mancini’s “Moon River.”

Suggested donation is $10. A reception will follow. For more information, call 532-7979 or visit firstchurchinjaffrey.org.
