Jaffrey police log: Aug. 20, 2013
Tuesday, August 6
Arrest: At 5 p.m., police responded to a residence on Charlonne Street for a domestic dispute. A Jaffrey woman reported she was in fear for her safety. Police investigated and found that her son, Michael Ball, 25, of Jaffrey had caused significant damage to the house. He was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, with bail set at $10,000. He was transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections to await arraignment.
Friday, August 9
Arrest: At 12:11 a.m., police observed a man acting intoxicated on Peterborough Street near Rite Aid. Police placed Russell Holden, 45, of Jaffrey in protective custody on suspicion of alcoholism. Russell was transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections, where police learned his consumption of alcohol was likely a breach of existing bail conditions. According to police,a charge of breach of bail is likely forthcoming.
Arrest: At 1:30 a.m., police observed a man sitting on the roof of his car drinking a beer in the municipal parking lot on Blake Street. Christopher Boulay, 24, of Rindge was arrested and charged with violation of open container. He was released on a summons.
Accident: At 4:15 p.m., police responded to a two-car crash on Main Street in front of St. Patrick School. Walter Pryor, 59, of Jaffrey was driving a 2010 Toyota Tacoma when, police said, he stopped at a crosswalk to allow pedestrians to cross. Julia Thibaudeau, 16, of Jaffrey was traveling behind Pryor in a 2003 Mazda Tribute when she allegedly failed to stop and her vehicle rear-ended his. There were no injuries but, according to police, there was substantial damage to both vehicles. Thibaudeau’s car deployed both air bags and was towed from the scene. Pryor’s vehicle was driven from the scene.
Saturday, August 10
Arrest: At 2 p.m., police responded to a residence on School Street for an animal complaint. While there, police learned one of the individuals at the residence had an electronic bench warrant for her arrest out of Merrimack County Court for non-appearance in court. Rachel Tylenda, 27, of Jaffrey was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections. She was held in lieu of $302 cash.
Monday, August 12
Arrest: At 10:56 p.m., police responded to information that a customer at Mr. Mike’s on Peterborough Street appeared intoxicated and had just left in a vehicle. Police located the vehicle in the McDonald’s parking lot in Jaffrey. Upon searching the vehicle, police found open containers of alcohol in plain view and a pipe with residue, believed to be marijuana. The driver, Kayla Schlim, 21, of Peterborough, was arrested and charged with possession of narcotic drugs, violation of open container and transportation of alcohol. The passenger, Carly Powers, 20, of Peterborough, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor. Both were released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a Sept. 4 court date.
