Score counsels fitness teacher
QueViva Fitness LLC owner Sheilla Parkerson of Jaffrey contacted Score — a Keene nonprofit that counsels small business — to assist her in growing a business she started a year earlier.
Score reviewed her income, pricing and need to establish a business bank account. Dealing with the public, it was important for her to be covered adequately for liability insurance and insure her equipment, which had previously been stolen. Her plan is to grow the business to the point where she can afford a studio.
Parkerson was inspired at an early age by her mother’s exercise videos. Fostering the desire to help people keep their bodies healthy and strong, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from UMass Amherst. Adding to her credentials, she is certified as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor through the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America. In addition she is licensed to teach Zumba Fitness and specializes in Zumba Gold, Zumba Toning, Zumbatomic and Aqua Zumba. Parkerson’s forte is working with active older adults, beginners and children.
QueViva’s mission is “Supporting a healthier community through fitness programs for one and all.” Parkerson’s motto is “Accomplish, Celebrate, Live.” For more information, see quevivafitness.com.
