Park Theatre ready to rebuild
To the editor:
All of us working to reopen The Park Theatre would like to thank the hundreds of people, near and far, who responded to the $100,000 match campaign this summer as well as to the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript for its support throughout this recent effort. Thanks to all of you, we reached our goal. The theater is now eligible to receive $200,000 in New Hampshire state tax credits, which were donated earlier to the project by our businesses in the Monadnock region and beyond. Thank you all for helping to raise the $300,000 needed to clear the site and get ready for construction. You have made the difference.
Trustees continue to work hard to reopen The Park Theatre. Historical and architectural elements — including the 1941 Monadnock murals, the wall lights and theatre seats — have been removed and safely stored to be reinstalled in the new facility. Jaffrey’s Planning Board has approved the building site plans. Southwest Region Planning Commission removed the buried oil tank from the alley way, and Hutter Construction Company is ready to rebuild the theater.
Thank you to everyone who has made possible all that has been accomplished. We are moving forward because of you!
