Pastels include scenes of nature

An exhibit of pastels by Roxane Chardon will be on display in the first-floor display cases at the Jaffrey Civic Center through Oct. 24.

As a professional artist working in pastel, Chardon strives to capture emotion through the connection of art to nature.

Because of her love for the elemental, many works include flowers, nests, fruit, and berries.

Chardon, a signature member of the Pastel Society of New Hampshire, has won numerous awards in pastel, participating in juried international, national, and regional exhibitions.

She served on the board as treasurer for PSNH and is an active member of several art organizations.

In 2011, she established the Chardon Artistry Award for PSNH to be given to an artist in recognition of outstanding creativity and has presented awards for the Pastel Society of America in New York.

Her work is sold via her online gallery at www.roxanechardon.com and at fine art shows and exhibitions throughout the United States.

Admission is free. For more information, visit www.jaffreyciviccenter.com.
