Wednesday, Nov. 20
Suspended license: At 11:37 a.m., police stopped a car on River Street. The driver, Nicholas Cullinane, 31, of Deerfield Beach, Fla., was found to have a suspended license out of Florida. Cullinane was arrested and charged with operating after suspension. He was released on $1,500 personal recognizance and was issued a Jan. 9 court date at 8th District Court, Jaffrey.
Thursday, Nov. 21
Suspended license: At 12:39 a.m., police stopped a car on Main Street near Sawtelle Road. The driver, Kevin Downey, 36, of Jaffrey, was found to be driving with a suspended license. Downey was arrested and charged with operating after suspension. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance and was issued a Jan. 9 court date at 8th District Court, Jaffrey.
Assault: At 9:50 a.m., while at 8th District Court on a separate matter, police served a must-appear summons to a suspect for whom they had a warrant. Jeremiah Pademni, 22, of Jaffrey, who was at the courthouse on another matter, was served the summons on charges of criminal mischief and simple assault. The charges came after a Dublin woman reported that she was assaulted by Pademni on July 19. Pademni was arraigned that morning.
Arrest: At 7:50 p.m., two women came to the police department to report an incident that had just occurred involving the reporting woman’s husband. While the woman was in a vehicle with her husband, the man allegedly would not allow her to get out of the car and kept her beyond her will. Michael Pelletier, 35, of Jaffrey was ultimately found and went to the Police Department. Pelletier was arrested under the 12-hour domestic violence law and charged with false imprisonment, domestic-violence related. Pelletier was released on $5,000 personal recognizance and was issued a Jan. 9 court date at 8th District Court, Jaffrey.
Friday, Nov. 22
Truck trouble: At 2:30 p.m., police responded to Hadley Road at Davidson Road for reports of a tractor-trailer that had lost control. Driver Edward Garcia-Baez, 35, of Methuen, Mass., was traveling in a 2004 tractor-trailer when he apparently lost control of the truck as he tried to turn onto Davidson Road from Hadley Road. Garcia-Baez ultimately became stuck on the lawn of the residence at 24 Davidson Rd. Gauthier Auto responded to pull the truck back onto road. There was significant damage done to the lawn, but no other damage or injuries were reported.
Arrest: At 4:40 p.m., Timothy Motuzas, 20, of Jaffrey went to the police station to turn himself on a warrant, charging him with conduct after a minor car accident that occurred on Oct. 20 at the Mobil on River Street. Motuzas was released on $1,000 personal recognizance and was issued a Jan. 9 court date at 8th District Court, Jaffrey.
Sunday, Nov. 24
Theft: At 12:05 a.m., officers responded to Mr. Mike’s on Peterborough Street for reports of theft by a 43-year-old Jaffrey man. Reports indicated that the man was believed to have taken an item off the rack and put it in his pocket, and then was thought to have left without paying for the item. Video surveillance confirmed this to be accurate. Police located an empty package of chocolate chip cookies on side of building, where a witness observed the man discard what he had in his pocket. Officers spoke with the man, who advised police he thought he had paid for the item. Charges are pending.
Wires down: Between 5:25 a.m. and 4:48 p.m., police received four separate reports of felled trees and wires because of wind on Nutting Road, Great Road, Dublin Road and Webster Street.
