Building a theater

To the editor:

The Park Theatre Board of Trustees would like to thank all those who made the recent ground breaking ceremony such a success, especially Jaffrey Grade School students Lucy and Kimberly, along with their classmates from Mrs. Pryor’s First Grade and Mrs. Nichol’s Third Grade who led the community in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Also a thank you to Father Bill Deschamps, St. Patrick Church, Maria Belva, Grand Monadnock Youth Chorus, Ken Sheldon, Frost Heaves, and Lisa Bostnar, Jaffrey and Peterborough Players who added immeasurably to the event. Trustees are very grateful for the kind remarks from Pamela Slack, office of Senator Jean Shaheen, Tom DeRosa, the office of Sen. Kelly Ayotte, John Greene, office of Congresswoman Ann Kuster, Ted Brady, State Director, Department of Agriculture-Rural Development, Van McLeod, Commissioner, NH Department of Cultural Resources, The Honorable Richard Ames, District 9 Representative, Glenn Coppelman, NH Community Development Finance Authority, Charlie Palmer, emeritus, TEAM Jaffrey and Stephanie Faulkner, on behalf of the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce.

The Ground Breaking Ceremony was made possible by the tremendous effort of very many who labored behind the scenes and without whom the event could not have been done. Thank you to Holly Alderman for the banners, Sunflowers Café, Savron Graphics, Public Service of New Hampshire’s hard hats, Henry Moreau, Moresound, Inc., John Hopkins, Monadnock Tent Rental, Chief Oswalt and the Jaffrey Police Department for traffic control, and the perfect demolition of a cobbled together 91-year old facility overseen by Dave Ross, Jr. of Hutter Construction Corporation and executed flawlessly by Charlie Walker, Keith Dupuis, and Matt Peard, Monadnock Disposal Services with consummate skill and the remarkable machinery of Van Dyke Builders and Mountainshade, and all of it recorded for everyone by Marilyn Weir, Marilyn Weir Photography, and David Teubner, KeeneOnline.
