WLC girls earn sweep of Concord Christian
The Wilton-Lyndeborough girls basketball team earned a season sweep of Concord Christian on Friday night with a 44-34 victory.
The Warriors trailed by one at the half, but evened the score at 28 entering the fourth. Over the final eight minutes, they held a 16-6 advantage that led to the second win over the Kingsmen in the last 12 days after a five-point win on Jan. 14.
WLC went down 10-1 early in the first quarter, but rallied to make it just a five-point deficit going into the second. Freshman Ally Schwab scored 14 and junior Sami Bosquet finished with 13. Sophomore Jenna Bragdon, who missed the previous game, had six points and 11 rebounds.
The Warriors trailed undefeated Hinsdale 23-21 at the half on Tuesday, but managed just 13 points over the final two quarters in a 49-34 loss.
It was the third loss overall to the Pacers, who was the lone unbeaten team remaining in Division IV entering this week. WLC dropped the first meeting at home by 27 and then fell in the opening game of the Zero Gravity Holiday Tournament at Keene State College by three.
Bosquet scored 22 of the team’s 34 points.
WLC hosted Newmarket on Monday and will travel to Mascenic on Wednesday in a rematch of the Jan. 7 meeting that went in favor of the Vikings, 33-32.
