WLC girls defeat Nute 64-41

The Wilton-Lyndeborough girls basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak and pulled to within one-game of .500 with a 64-41 win over Nute on Tuesday.

The Warriors led from start to finish, including by nine after the first and 31-21 at the half. With a 10-point lead after the third, WLC closed out the game by outscoring the Rams 20-7 over the final eight minutes.

“We just wore them down with pressure,” said coach Dennis Claire. “And we got a lot of turnovers.”

Senior Deanna Davidson scored a team-leading 12 points and senior Casey Jenkerson had 10. Junior Sami Bosquet finished with 10, despite being limited due to illness.

“We had to play a lot without her,” said Claire. “But she played well when she was in there.”

WLC travels to Derryfield tonight.

“It’s a big game for us because they’re one game behind us,” said Claire.
