Local artisans awarded at craftsmen’s fair
The League of N.H. Craftsmen presented awards recognizing the creativity and skill of its juried members during the League’s annual Craftsmen’s Fair preview party, which was held on Aug. 2.
Forty-two juried members were presented with awards for their exemplary work at this year’s annual craftsmen’s fair’s three exhibitions: Living With Craft, CraftWear, and the Sculpture Garden. A total of $9,080 in cash and gift certificates were presented to the award winners.
Michael Austin of Peterborough was presented with the Joe Tucker Metal Award for his “Wedge Table” from the Living with Craft exhibition. He was sponsored by Nora and Norman Stevens.
Sarah Fortin of Mason was presented with the Best Use of Color Award in Weaving for “Honey Comb Jacket” from the CraftWear exhibition. She was sponsored by Pam Michie and Melanie Connor of The Fiber Studio.
