Town seeks new board members

NEW IPSWICH — The town is currently seeking interested residents for appointments to empty positions on two town boards.

Currently, the town is seeking to fill four positions on the Zoning Board — two full time members and two alternate positions. One of the positions was left empty after the write-in election of former member Becky Doyle to the Select Board. Doyle resigned her position on the Zoning Board in order to take up the Selectman position.

Those interested in applying for appointment to the Zoning Board should contact the board Secretary Joanne Meshna at the town offices at 878-2772.

Also, during March ballot voting, the town approved the implementation of a five-person elected municipal Budget Committee. For the first year, the members will be appointed by the town’s newly-elected Moderator Robert Romeril. In future years, the members will be elected by the voting body.

Those wishing to submit their names for consideration for appointment to the Budget Committee should contact Romeril by calling the town offices at 878-2772 or emailing TownModerator@TownofNewIpswich.org.
