There were 110 young entrants in the annual New Ipswich Fishing Derby at Cemetery Pond in New Ipswich this year. Lily Alix of New Ipswich landed the biggest fish on the girl’s side, with a 1 pound, 4 ounce fish. The boy’s competition was tied with both Drew Anderson, 5, and Colby Vautour, 10, both of New Ipswich, each reeling in a 1 pound, 6 ounce fish. Anderson was awarded the first-place prize by coin toss. Each winner received a new fishing pole as a prize.
